A promote from within culture has elevated Sr. Leaders based on tenure not domain experience or exceptional leadership, resulting in Assurant safe guarding the status quo. Sr. Leaders use authoritarian and micromanagement principles rather than servant leader, collaborative styles that typically attract top talent. The resulting culture perpetuates a lack of innovation and change required to support an organic growth strategy. The company will continue to grow by inorganic growth and will continue to foster a culture that stymies acquisition of top talent and promotion of innovation.
