Pros
At Astranis you work on seriously hard problems which there are rarely any easy answers. For many people, this is their first time solving said problems. What happens at a lot of places is that you end up feeling like you don't belong or this isn't the place for you. Astranis goes above and beyond in convincing you that you belong there by perfectly balancing the employee trust and management push back. Very flat organization. Yes, there are C-suite folk and there are team leads, but it's pretty clear that's just for systems work and not ever used to hold it "above" anyone. Still at a size where everyone feels comfortable talking to everyone, and nothing really blocks that (aside from meeting density). Fun office+atmosphere. People are super social and great to work with.
Cons
They do their best to minimize the pressure on any one individual employee, but it's still a small startup with a lot of hard choices. The pressure of those choices is definitely real. Also, standard startup work-life balance concerns. Good about respecting time off but hours definitely trend upwards.
