The engineering department suffers from an unusually high concentration of inexperience, unchecked ego, and a disregard for established engineering practices. A cohort of 27–35-year-old self-proclaimed experts dominates discussions with a "we know better" attitude. The environment is characterized by constant one-upmanship, ( one big battle of the phallus ) where a handful of Type-A personalities compete rather than cooperate. The culture is toxic, counterproductive, and ultimately unsafe. Leaving was the clearest, easiest decision I’ve ever made.
