Pros

I guess the pro of working at Garden Ridge would have to be it's a secure job. I am not sure what you would have to do as far as bad job preformance to get fired.

Cons

management and corp. doesn't care one bit about the employees. They have know idea which employees do the work and whichones don't. They let certain employees (friends ) run amuck. Told merch managers they would make 24,000.00 a year. that was a 50 hour week with a hour a day paid lunch. so, average was a little over 11.00 a hour. Then they decided to make us hourly. cutting our pay to a bit over 9.00 hr. and piled more work on us. so we work over 46 hours and are checks pathetic. Don't be sick or have a emergency with out personal time to cover it. There is no unpaid time off. You just lose your job.

Pros

Fine enough coworkers to be around

Cons

Horrendous corporate staff. Overly aggressive marketing for customers that clearly don't seem to actually care to buy anything. 90 day no question return policy means customers buy things constantly and return them even faster. Terrible inbound freight allocation, dozens of the same item are sent on each and every truck that do not sell. Overpriced, ugly, and uncomfortable furniture that sits and fits for months on end. Corporate will tear you a new one for not getting enough customers to sign up for ad bloated emails and text marketing, while also pushing a credit card with terrible benefits from a scummy bank. Will be out of business before the end of the decade.
