Pros

Great employee discounts, great benefits, great coworkers-begins and ends there

Cons

Don't mistake the Company marketing which is all about empowering women to translate to working conditions or situations. Marketing is marketing and they want to sell yoga pants. I had the unfortunate opportunity to work at Virginia store for the worst store manager I have had in 15 years. I witnessed her "massage" numbers to inflate program success, humiliate employees and discriminate among customers. When I brought this to the attention of District and Regional personnel, I was moved, offered a lesser position at a lower hourly rate and moved again until I left. The CEO of all of Gap came through the store at Christmas along with a Board member and didn't have the decency to even greet or thank the store team. Gap is huge and opportunities exist if you have good management and there are a few. If you enjoy selling overpriced low quality merchandise while being treated poorly this is the perfect spot.

Pros

Very black & white on policies. You always know what is right or wrong.Operationally strong company that allows movement between brands. Decent pay if you advocate for yourself as an external, but don’t expect much once you’re in.

Cons

Company has changed direction so much since COVID. Seems like there’s no clear idea on who we are anymore.Senior leadership feels like a revolving door that only succeeds in spinning tires with no traction. We love to initiate something only to either sunset it months later or leave it in limbo(WellPro). The amount of stress pushed on stores to meet credit goals is absurd to the point it inspires unethical behaviors in certain stores.
