Signing up for benefits is a pain. Management’s approach is a laissez faire attitude, many days you won’t even see anyone above supervisor level. Front desk, at least at the FBO I worked at, is little to no help. They will inform you that a customer is headed to an aircraft…after they’ve already gotten in the plane, they typically will not assist with any minor stuff like making coffee or bagging ice, and a large percentage seemed nervous to talk on radios so they would come through way too soft to even hear. On busy days you will walk/run a good 10-20 miles so be prepared for that, especially in hotter states if you’re not accustomed to that. We had several cases of heatstroke/dehydration so make sure you bring a camelback or something similar because on busy days there may not be any water breaks.
