Pros
- For the most part, very nice equipment. - Varied flying and itineraries. - Excellent international traveling opportunities
Cons
- No pilot trip protections. Get sent home early? Your pay will reflect that. I've had two months this year when I lost >50% of my regular pay due to being unexpectedly sent home early. - Short-sighted management that seems to care about their own interests rather than the interests of the company as a whole - such as paying themselves outrageous bonuses over the Amazon contract before so much as a dime of ACMI revenue had been earned over the deal. - Major labor dispute with the pilots. Pilots are overworked and undercompensated relative to counterpart pilots at United, FedEx, and the other major carriers. Meanwhile, our executives are some of the highest paid in the industry. - Other airlines have gone well above and beyond to try to make their airline an appealing destination for pilots to work for; Atlas hasn't. This, meanwhile, industry conditions greatly favor pilots, not companies. - A management team that doesn't face its problems head-on. They'd rather bury their heads in the sand and hope their problems go away. - Awful communication from management. - Many commuter airlines have a better contract for pilots than Atlas' pilot contract. - Has done nothing to address the high pilot attrition rates. - is in denial about their high pilot attrition rates. - Has laid off entire teams of employees rather than offer them relocation in moving much of the operation from New York to Cincinnati. - Uses the excuse of being a small, mom-and-pop operation rather tackle its problems head-on.
