I came to Atlassian from a toxic environment thinking I had found a company that had strong empathetic, people-centric values. A place where people enjoyed working. It showed in the tenure of many of the folks. Instead, I have found even more toxicity running deep and wide. On top of it all upper management has been vocal that they are actively trying to increase attrition. Confirming that people are only of value as long as we are producing work at our peak performance. Although no one knows what they should be producing (including management). I am not naive that this is a corporation trying to make a profit, but I didn't expect such blatantly extractive practices toward the people who have made this company what it is. Especially from a company that preaches its values far and wide.
