Pros

1. Good compensation structure to keep the take home more. Payout of variable pay is normally 100%. 2. Excellent tax saving options by which one can reduce TDS from 15k-20k every month! 3. Work from home (select projects) 4. Good package while joining ( if you negotiate)

Cons

Atos is an excellent brand in Europe and one of the best company to work for. However when it comes to India the misery begins. Its being managed as a back office with only low end work being executed here. Most of the projects are of Application management type with no real consulting opportunities. Resources are released from the projects after some time to keep the project cost and GCM level low. One can only pity those released resources especially the seniors because they have to either get into some projects quickly or sit in central pool (bench). While lower GCM (<4) may not face problem sitting in central pool for months, it’s not the case with resources with higher GCM (>4). They will be asked to resign or look for another job if they are in central pool and internal WFM team not able to find anything for them within 2-3 months. Even if the WFM finds anything in that time, there is no guarantee that it will be in your base location. You will end up in travelling (with in India most of the time) which can affect your family life and this cycle often gets repeated until you are lucky to find projects in your base location when staying in central pool Most of the projects involve firefighting. Managers will literally shout on the individual in team meetings and at times it becomes nasty. They react to the crisis situation instead of acting upon it. Those who don’t manage this kind of treatment will be released from the project citing performance and this feedback is taken by other managers before taking them. Finding projects with this tag will be a huge challenge. It will then be back to central pool with clock start ticking Onsite are very less as Atos India is being managed as a back office with heavy offshore presence. Some divisions have slightly better onsite but it is unpredictable and often ends up in solo travel (no family). Zero Process company. There was no hard disk encryption till last year. It was enabled only in the beginning of this year with one common password for all desktop & laptops (I wonder how they handle clients in BFSI)! This process immaturity will reflect everywhere from appraisal to goal setting. you will not get invite to discuss on appraisal or goal setting. Managers do this task by a mass upload option for their team on the last day! There were many cases where Managers asked their team member to resign immediately by threatening orally without following process like PIP. HR is a farcical here and do not expect any support from them Atos does give good hike while joining (if you negotiate). However the subsequent hike will be pathetic for 3 years at least. Hikes around 2-3% will be given in the initial years. Even good rating in appraisal won't result in good hike. It is based on number of years that you had put here. They will average out the initial joining hike in the subsequent years I’d say this company is good for fresher and existing old time resources. On paper, it has got some of the best policies for the employees. However the good is getting engulfed by the bad (limited no of projects, job insecurity and work culture) that is prevailing in Atos India.
