Cons
At this point in time, the place can be compared to the Sunken Titanic; 90 percent of the old employees have already left, been laid off, or found something much better. It is impossible to meet anyone who left and later decided to return to Atos. Most projects have been put on hold or frozen. Promoting people without the skills and proper attitudes to managerial positions within the company. So-called butt licking was and still is a widespread activity among most managers and some employees. Several foreigners who worked there suffered some form of racism or degrading treatment from local managers or team leaders. The process of rewarding and promoting employees is very unclear. If you are not a member of the circle of managers or you represent a free-thinking attitude, you can forget about getting a promotion, recognition, or even an award. The majority of so-called ‘’managment’’ have very low self-esteem about themselves (this may be a direct result of their unhealthful upbringing, bullying at school, or not fulfilling their parents' dreams) and are ready to do almost anything to please their superiors by using their subordinates. Positions were and still are given under the table only to the chosen ones. Micromanagement was common in some departments and projects. In most cases, local managers are never willing to stand up for their employees, always siding with the so-called ‘’business. Weekly, daily, or monthly calls, which do not add any value to the employees' work; during them, people mainly talk about useless information or news. The office is hot and stuffy in the summer and cold in the winter, located next to the main road in the center. When there are more employees on the floor at the same time, the place becomes so noisy that it is sometimes difficult to hear your own thoughts. After 8 hours, you will definitely have a headache. When employees leave or are made redundant, they may forget about any gratitude; the word “thank you” for your time at the company is rarely spoken or uttered by managers. They say there are no bad companies, only useless managers and team leaders. This truth applies strongly to Atos in Sofia. When this place was established a few years ago, it was supposed to be full of possibilities and opportunities, where hard work, honesty, and engagement were the keys to success and promotion. As time passed, the so-called ‘’local managment’’ turned Atos Sofia into what it is today: a place of stagnation with a lack of progress and professional development, where butt licking is the only way to get a better position.
