I think like a lot of companies that grow fast, there have been hiccups. To Atrium's credit, they've learned from them and don't doggedly repeat the same mistakes over and over 'just because' its how it was done elsewhere.
Working remotely takes a bit of self-initiative to stay informed of what others are doing that may affect your area. Because we can be siloed in our own discipline, it is hard to get a big-picture and know where one initiative may affect others and bring them into the decision making process. To be fair, this is something all companies I've worked for struggle with.
