Cons
I would not recommend working at the corporate office. The company’s president seems dedicated but the HR team and the majority of the managers create a toxic work environment. The HR team all have legal backgrounds and they make it very clear that they are not there for the employee but rather they are there for the company - it should be a balanced effort between the two. If you approach them, be prepared for the managers to make it their job to hopefully remove you from the workplace for being a “problem” because everything you said will be shared directly with them. The management team does not handle any type of criticism well. This is most likely because they promote managers based on their ability to do their job rather than taking into account their leadership qualities or lack there of. The management team tries to prove their rank with bullying tactics and unfortunately it results in a lack of trust for everyone, which leads to a lack of communication and ends up creating cliques in the workplace. If you have thick enough skin to put up with all of that, the gossip will not be far behind. I have never seen such a busy rumor mill in a workplace filled with grown adults. To make matters worse, recently the HR team is attempting to openly sway any political views that differ from their own. Their agenda is not appropriate for the workplace especially if they aren’t creating a safe environment to voice your own opinions in. Lastly, it should be noted that maternity leave is not offered at Atrium. What workplace in this day and age does not offer maternity leave? If anything, it shows how little they respect women in the workplace. I had high hopes for Atrium, but the dysfunction, drama and lack of respect for the employees far outweighed any positive growth.
