Working on procurement activities for the Federal Government provided me with challenging yet highly impactful tasks. The nature of the work allowed me to develop a deep understanding of cost analysis and pricing strategies in the context of government contracts.

Cons

Like any consulting role, there were times when deadlines were tight. However, this also added an exciting element to the work, pushing us to deliver high-quality results efficiently.

Little to no management interference in day-to-day job

Cons

Annual leave is capped at 2 weeks regardless of experience level and is not negotiable. Benefits are subpar - expensive insurance and vesting schedule means shorter contracts will not get any company matching funds for 401K. While I did not get a lowball offer, most other individuals I know did and declined to join the company.
