Pros

This is a state job so the benefits are really good. I have been able to move around with in the institution

Cons

The older workers keep their jobs beyond retirement making it difficult for the younger workers to advance in some areas. Pay is not as good a private sector

Pros

Met lots of people and developed my networking skills. Was adequately prepared to be a presenter at the Southern Regional Orientation Workshop (SROW).

Cons

Not the fault of the office or school; smaller campus just meant fewer people and opportunities.

Pros

Teaches you how to be organized, meet a lot of great people, benefits are decent

Cons

Pay is terrible. Leadership does not care about you. You get in trouble for clocking in 7 or 8 mins too early or too late (point system). No career conversations. No career pathing. It isn't normal to want to talk about your career.
