Pros
Every company has its good and bad, but the University side is definitely where everyone wants to be. The benefits are well worth it. The ones that I see enjoy working here the most are those that genuinely do love the area they work in. Even at an administrative level, we’re consistently involved in projects, publications, initiatives and education. If you find where you fit in, going into work isn’t hard at all. There’s always something to do. With that being said, this is a research institution that prides itself on innovation. Things change all the time. If you’re not good with adapting or it’s difficult for you to pick up things, it might not be a good fit.
Cons
While the benefits exceeds expectations the pay leaves a lot to be desired. We don’t get yearly pay increases unless approved by the governor. No increases for yearly evaluations or anything like that. Parking is horrible.
