      Pros

      AU is a place with incredible dedicated faculty and staff. People give 100% and care deeply about their work and the mission.

      Cons

      There really is no direction. We are currently reevaluating our core values, which speaks to a lack of consistency. Change fatigue is a huge challenge. The EVPs for many areas lack qualifications and were promoted based on friendships and loyalty to the president. The EVP for enrollment and student affairs has seen record turnover and a burnt out division. Priorities are unclear, and a nastiness is evident in leadership with retaliation expected.

      Pros

      Met lots of people and developed my networking skills. Was adequately prepared to be a presenter at the Southern Regional Orientation Workshop (SROW).

      Cons

      Not the fault of the office or school; smaller campus just meant fewer people and opportunities.

      Pros

      Teaches you how to be organized, meet a lot of great people, benefits are decent

      Cons

      Pay is terrible. Leadership does not care about you. You get in trouble for clocking in 7 or 8 mins too early or too late (point system). No career conversations. No career pathing. It isn't normal to want to talk about your career.
