Pros

Teachers are incredibly passionate and are trying their best to drive innovation and implement best practices for kiddos with very little resources.

Cons

Instead of removing barriers to allow teachers to do their best, the district leadership is in the process of instilling minions (new principals) at different campuses to remove all autonomy and innovation that make each campus unique and special but instead have each campus conform to poor district curriculum and even worse district created testing. Being a campus leader felt like giving bad news to teachers on a regular basis and then fighting with a principal that cared more about what district leaders thought of him over doing what was right by kids. I thought it was an isolated issue on one campus, but speaking to the many others who have left, it feels like a consorted effort to replace advocates of innovation at each campus with 'yes-men' who will just do as the district says without any push-back.

Pros

Decent pay and good PTO.

Cons

Demanding schedules. Administration doesn't communicate well, and budget cuts make the job harder.
