Business Outlook
Pros
They are one of the few districts in Texas that still contribute to teacher retirement and they are not yet banning books or adopting bible-based education, as other districts have started to do. Teaching is very rewarding.
Cons
Schools ask for help, but are told it is not possible, such as after school busses for Title I campuses so students can receive extra academic support. More pressure is put on these schools for supposedly underperforming, while the wealthier campuses are not as closely micromanaged. The district is under a lot of pressure from TEA and it is not all their fault, but it is at least partially their fault. They could have done more in planning and in communication. Also, the health benefits are very poor.
