Solid company, just don't ever expect a raise. - Behavioral Therapist Autism Spectrum Therapies Employee Review

Pros

Solid company, job security, big presence in the field of ABA.

Cons

No room for growth, don't ever expect to get a raise, very isolating company structure. I worked the later shift while attending graduate school to get my BCBA. It hit me one day that the only person I ever saw, other than my families, was my direct supervisor. I rarely saw anyone else who worked for AST. This led to a pretty isolating work experience and made me realize that I would probably never be able to work up the ranks to a supervisor position. So after 2 years I left and became a supervisor at a competing agency.

Pros

Flexibility. woman-led field. frequent pay raises. overtime opportunities.

Cons

Clinical director lives across the country so is not as easily accessible or truly aware of staff dynamics and issues. before AST was bought out by LEARN, they did 401K matching, that's no more. No more sick time off, it's all just lumped into your PTO. Issues with staff take too long to be resolved. Depending on the BCBA you get placed with, you'll either have lots of great support or none at all.
