Some supervisors care. Kids are great. You get CPR and CPI training for your resume

Cons

Low hours. False promises by recruiters. Rules always changing. Low pay. Only favorites get promotions or raises. New staff get more hours and then lose them. Supervisors tired. Supervisors change all the time. Center has so many cliques, with ALL staff. Higher ups show up in tiny clothes but you get told to change for the dress code if someone doesn’t like you. Aupervisors play favorites and everyone else is in trouble. Admin is paid less but you have to do it

Flexibility. woman-led field. frequent pay raises. overtime opportunities.

Cons

Clinical director lives across the country so is not as easily accessible or truly aware of staff dynamics and issues. before AST was bought out by LEARN, they did 401K matching, that's no more. No more sick time off, it's all just lumped into your PTO. Issues with staff take too long to be resolved. Depending on the BCBA you get placed with, you'll either have lots of great support or none at all.
