Pros

Auto/Mate has a great culture, work-life balance, leadership that genuinely cares about the employees, smart coworkers, professional growth, family atmosphere, strong core values, and a customer focus. BBQ's, Bagels, Ice Cream and Cupcakes - Oh MY! Voted the "Top Workplace" in the Capital Region, Best Place to Work winner 5 years in a row!

Cons

In my opinion, there is nothing that sticks out that I would be able to list under cons. I can genuinely say that I love my job! Having previously worked at companies that care too much about their bottom line and not enough about their employees and customers, I can say that Auto/Mate is a welcome breath of fresh air! They believe that in order to have the best software and the best customer support, you need to start by treating your people the best!

Pros

Met some absolutely lovely people, was excited to work for previous management when hired

Cons

Recently, Auto/Mate was acquired by a much, much larger company called DealerSocket. While they've done everything they can to say nothing will change, unfortunately I don't believe you spend the (rumored) kind of money DS did to not make changes. This was a once fun, family-like company that will soon be wrung of all it's charms in place of a much more sterile, corporate approach. After reading most of the reviews, I can vouch for a few things. There are a lot of people at this company who have been doing what they do for a very long time. I think there is going to be reckoning of old school seniority meeting new school "what have you done for me lately" approach that values productivity over all other metrics. The Auto/Mate of the last 30 years or so is no longer what you will be applying to or seeing reviews of. Going forward, I don't know how many of these testimonials really apply. It has become a different company, and one I wish I was made aware of prior to joining the company.
