Pros

This is a company that takes the well-being of their employees seriously. They try to ensure you have a work-life balance and for you to not work more than your scheduled shift. They also don’t micromanage or constantly tell you what you’re doing wrong. They have a friendly and laid back culture. They also offer a pension which is nice.

Cons

The salary is not as competitive as other companies. You will get paid more elsewhere. The bonuses are not guaranteed and raises do not keep up with cost of living or inflation. Training is also not as in depth as other companies. A lot of reliance on tenured adjusters having to train the newer associates. I don’t mind helping others out and helping them grow but the issue comes back to not being paid enough to do your own work work duties much less that of becoming a supervisor or trainer when you aren’t one. The room for growth is limited to non-existent. In my branch, the manager, supervisor and senior claims rep are going to be there until they retire which means no opportunity for other associates to grow into that position without relocating. Diversity is a bit lacking which is surprising given the area that we live in. When compared to another insurance company I worked at, benefits were slightly better and slightly less expensive than what I have here.

Pros

Amazing people. Amazing atmosphere. Amazing milieu. I love my internship and i am getting paid pretty well for an intern.

Cons

I am in claims so it is pretty redundant in tasks even though no claim is the same.

Pros

There is a lot left to be desired, the primary "Pro" would be co- workers

Cons

In my opinion, AO is short sighted and concerned only for the higher ups. Departments are forced to be silo-ed and have built a culture that even walking into a another area of the same floor makes you feel out of place. Decisions are made from a top down perspective, meaning they are worried about their bottom dollar instead of what is in the best interest of everyone. The front line workers receive a low salary and a cap on profit sharing of 15% while managers get 2x that amount, with the higher you climb the bigger the bonus. Employees are seen as disposable and are treated as such.
