Pros
Great job if you like little pay for very hard busy work. And I mean busy work. (Old inventory out and new inventory in--even if none of the stuff sells.) If your good at sales, you will be offered a Grey Shirt promotion to Parts Sales Manager. Then, you get to work 50% harder and have 100% more responsibilty for a few extra pennies. But don't worry, when your annual review comes up in October, they will give you an ~3% raise.
Cons
They will work you to death with correct phone sales procedures, required selling of all of the related parts for the job, and checkout sales deals. If you can't sell the extra parts for the job and/or the cash register specials, your hours will be cut to either get you to sell more stuff or quit. And don't be fooled by all the corporate hype. All of the cheering you see by Grey Shirts at meetings is done so they can brown-nose upper management into getting a future promotion. No cheering--no brown-nosing = no promotion.
