Pros
Steady work schedule, indoor, bonus opportunities, no big surprises so a routine is easy to establish, lots of opportunities to move up, catalog is easy to navigate
Cons
Lots of responsibility and paperwork so compensation doesn’t feel like it’s worth it at times, bonus structure is set so that even though you are doing more in sales each year bonuses can be less depending on percentage above sales targets, have to assist with DIY sales and performance, performance review has categories that commercial manager has no control or influence over, on your feet all day 10 plus hrs, inventory discrepancies with DC shipment, field management does not adhere to company policies at times and operate in gray area, can lead to issues on appropriate ways to handle returns and warranties, so some customers get preferential treatment in these areas based on their purchase volume, stores need better onboarding and training for new employees, scheduling system does not allow for proper coverage during business hours, computer system issues almost weekly, corporate does not understand what drives purchasing, corporate almost goes in to a panic when sales are down
