Pros
Some nice coworkers Some nice patients
Cons
Heavy workload for employees, 8+ patients per aide Very little training - you’re basically thrown in and given two shifts to learn everything before you’re on your own Zero explanation of policies and procedures, you’re expected to just kind of figure it out Very stressful environment, had such an effect on my mental health that I was hospitalized after a month of working here and then had to quit for my health Not all pertinent information is in the charts - I got reprimanded for not knowing things about patients that were not in their chart at all (I read through the entirety of all of my patients’ charts because I was desperate for any information I could find) and no one explained to me - this is dangerous for patients as one of the things I was never informed of was one patient being a huge choking risk and not being allowed to eat unsupervised.
