Pros

Compensation is ok for the tasks of position, but raises are only based on cost of living increases and only if Avera had profit the previous fiscal year.

Cons

obvious favoritism (especially men over women) and lower education levels are treated as inferior. annual reviews are used for personal attaches on your character, and low level management has no compassion for subordinates. Inpatient atmosphere is geared towards millennial generation, any technician over 30 has the wrong priorities to excel within the department. Newly established “tech in training” position allows management to hire with no pharmacy experience at significantly less wage. On the job training preformed by employees that were hired a few months prior. While the experienced technicians that are actually certified are promoted to “Tech II” and are off doing completely different job functions in other areas of the hospital. For an institution that is supposed to be rooted in ministry and care so much for the community, recent years as an employee were actually mentally abusive. I only recommend applying to Inpatient Pharmacy to young men currently attending college classes.

Pros

It's an option of you choose to work for a Christian organization. It's expected of employees to treat patients with dignity and respect.

Cons

Employees do not get the same courtesy of dignity and respect as patients do. New to EPIC. Went live at midnight. Chose the most minimal transition option. Training was minimal and now the expectation is to function with i a system that has not even tested in practice. Upper management does not take the effect of line staff into consideration.
