Get to do what you what as long as you are working within very limited company technology stack.
Cons
IT department live in the 1990's. Can't attract good staff with modern skills. Want to work with modern technologies? Forget it. All systems connected in some way to ancient database systems bound by poor decisions and company politics. Team communication is poor and uptake of version control process is too low to be effective.
