Pros
The challenges are many and the products were great.
Cons
Great requirements of duty rather than feeding the passion of people to help each other is driving morale into the grave. I do not believe this company can survive the current execute management's efforts. There is no vision for product development amongst the execute management let alone new products for new sales. In the past 3 years Avid has not announced any products that are new and innovative. When new product ideas are proposed by knowledgeable people, those idea are shot down because the executive management does not have any clue about the industry. Innovative changes that make sense as to where the computer industry is going are not even considered because of a lack of vision by the executive management. The use of offshore development teams by contract means that the new development teams will have no investment in or concern for Avid and its future. When they have new ideas that may benefit Avid, those ideas will be implemented by a competitor and not Avid.
