Absolute Miserable Disaster! - Manager Avid Technology Employee Review

Pros

Some interesting products but they're starting to collect dust versus being the former industry standard

Cons

Flailing, desperate times here with an even bleaker future on deck for 2016. The first layoff of the new year has gone down. But irregardless of the recent reduction in force to cut operating expenses, Avid still went ahead and spent a bundle on a completely uninspired, lackluster, cliche Global Sales meeting in January that left everyone wondering if the executive leadership team and particularly sales leadership are living in some parallel universe! So frighteningly out of touch. But then the pompous CEO I his tailor made suit was probably experiencing withdrawals from not being up on his pedestal and on a royal stage and lying again to his subjects that cancelling this pathetic party was not an option. Executives at Avid have completely ruined anything and everything that was positive and respectable. Only the rude and those who are too afraid to move on with their lives will survive there for much longer. Most will not hang around past this year as the demise continues and the walls further crumble. Watching a slow death and executive greed is what you'll see here.

Pros

• Some coworkers try to support each other despite the environment • You quickly learn how to handle stress (whether you want to or not)

Cons

• Toxic and reactive management style • Constantly shifting expectations with little to no clear direction • Unrealistic workload with pressure to meet metrics that don’t reflect reality • Lack of accountability from leadership—issues are pushed down instead of addressed • Poor communication across the board, leading to confusion and wasted time • Employees are not supported • Burnout is common and ignored
