Pros

Great company culture; most of the software engineers are passionate about the mission and the work Heavily use open source technologies. In general there is a focus on using the best tools and frameworks for the job Increasing focus on operational excellence -> our executive team is bought in that quality and operational excellence is a top priority for each team Small-company feel. Most engineering squads are 3-6 devs, and the entire company is less than 2500 people. So there's very little red tape to make things happen, and as an individual IC engineer, you have the autonomy to make decisions and have a major impact on the products

Cons

Axon is still maturing as a company. There are a lot of processes and infrastructure that it lacks (we got employees levels only just last year), but it is improving

Pros

The company has a great mission to protect life. The value of win right is something I think is often lacking in other companies and I have seen how it works well here with external wins.

Cons

As a salary employee I have worked more weekends and holidays than days I have taken off in the time I have been here with hardly a thanks. It’s an expectation that my salary does not cover. I tend to feel like a cog in a wheel rather than a valued individual.
