Pros

Decent pay, remote work, “unlimited” DTO, affordable health insurance

Cons

Difficult to use DTO due to finding coverage to handle workload Company culture went from being invigorating to depressing after the Las Vegas company trip. The CEO bragged about amazing we were doing and not going to downsize like our competitors lol. Then came the unspoken layoffs rebranded as voluntary layoffs. Outsourcing our jobs to the Philippines and India. No one has any clue where the hell this company is headed or what we actually are; tech development? Staffing agency? Management asks for our thoughts and insights but nothing comes from it, at this point most of us are just working until the next round of voluntary layoffs happen (yet again).

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We know organizational changes can be difficult and recognize the impact they can have on team members. When changes do occur, our goal is to approach them with transparency, respect and care for our team members. While we understand that not everyone will agree with every decision, they’re made with a focus on building a strong, sustainable organization that can continue advancing our mission of increasing access to care. And while the majority of Aya's workforce remains U.S.-based, we're proud to have global teams that help us advance our mission. Our commitment to our people has never wavered, and we work hard to listen through a variety of channels, including regular companywide surveys, town halls, manager conversations, and direct employee feedback. More importantly, we use that feedback to inform decisions and improve employee experience over time. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective and encourage you to reach out directly to our Chief People Officer, Amber Zeeb, at feedback@ayahealthcare.com if you'd be willing to discuss your experience further.

Pros

Working from home is the only real perk. The PTO policy looks good until you try to use it. Time off has to be approved months in advance, and you’re made to feel guilty for taking it because you’ll lose business and fall behind on unrealistic metrics. A benefit isn’t much of a benefit when you’re afraid to use it.

Cons

The micromanagement has reached an uncomfortable level. For years, recruiters were expected to record conversations without candidates’ consent. Now, with the new phone systems, managers can monitor text messages and listen to calls. None of this is going to improve business outcomes or recreate the profits the company saw during the COVID hiring boom. On top of that, employees are made to feel like they are constantly on performance improvement plans, with unrealistic goals that are nearly impossible to meet. Targets are frequently adjusted or moved altogether, making it extremely difficult to hit metrics, earn bonuses, or make a meaningful income. It creates a sense that no matter how hard you work, success is always just out of reach. Leadership has become increasingly unprofessional and, in many cases, unqualified. Fear and constant surveillance seem to have replaced trust as the primary management strategy. The compensation is no longer competitive enough to justify the environment. As for the “Aya Listens” surveys, it’s hard not to question whether they’re truly intended to gather honest feedback or simply identify employees who are speaking up.
