Pros

Aya is completely pushing loyal employees out

Cons

I have LOVED working here, from when I first got hired I felt I was on a great team, the goal/tier structures were fair, and ramping up meant more money. After working so hard to get a double promotion and feeling comfortable in my desk/pay, the company does a complete 180 and cuts my pay by $18k, cuts my commission in half, removes any chance of hitting a bonus, in an ALREADY saturated and increasingly difficult market to ramp up in. When I first joined, most recruiters on my team had 80-100 nurses while now all of those high performers are around 60-80 just due to the market changing. I thought this would mean Aya would adjust commissions/goals to adhere to this... but NOPE! They just decided to push people out and make anyone under 60 nurses feel like they have to quit due to unlivable wages. All with under 1 month notice... I am heartbroken. To add to all of this, my manager is micromanaging me for the first time EVER and sending me screenshots of everything I do. We are constantly being told to work on weekends and more recently asked us if we planned to work on Juneteenth and July 4th... WTF? I am already hitting 10 hour days. It's uncomfortable, I thought I would stay at Aya forever but a company that does this to it's employees? Not what I thought the company values/standards were.

Aya Healthcare Response

We appreciate you sharing your feedback. As Aya continues to grow, we’re constantly evolving to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and clinicians, which often requires an internal shift in processes, team structures and other areas of the organization. Even with the recent changes, our compensation structure continues to reward the majority of our recruiters and ensures they are paid at the top of the market. Working on company holidays is an option provided to team members, with approval from their manager. Recruitment leadership asks if anyone plans to work holidays to ensure there is adequate operational support provided for them to make the most efficient use of their time. Full-time team members are paid double time for hours worked plus 8 hours of holiday pay. If you’d like to connect further, please email our Chief People Officer, Amber Zeeb, at ayafeedback@ayahealthcare.com so we can address your concerns. Thank you.

Pros

I love working at Aya. I’m motivated to help staff hospitals across the country to bring healthcare to everyone. It’s not perfect, but people DO care about you. I have a rare perspective where I work across many teams including leadership, compliance and operations (as little old admin, bottom of the totem pole) and I have not witnessed the toxic workplace environment some people mention here. People are respectful and the subject of employee satisfaction is always top of mind. I’ve been at Aya for many seasons. Is it the same as COVID? No it’s not. but it was a pandemic and we’re a healthcare staffing company. You don’t want our business to boom like that again, it would mean tons of people are sick and hospitals aren’t staffed. Layoffs were awful and I miss my coworkers that were asked to leave. but the business changed after Covid and demand isn’t the same across the entire industry, not just at Aya Pros: Remote Positive work environment Unlimited PTO Fun events Beautiful office with free food Great coworkers DEI-forward with commitment to equality TLDR: layoffs suck but you don’t want infinite exponential growth in healthcare Expectations are high, but the environment is good and work-life balance is amazing

Cons

Pay is decent but not competitive with tech Growing pains
