Pros

The unlimited PTO and working remote is hard to beat.

Cons

I have loved working at this company, but it has all changed in the past 4 months. They used to truly value their employees and really foster a place for growth. Upper management does not care about employees anymore. We are getting in trouble for sticking to policies that have been in place for years. There have been layoffs in several departments and they’re just getting started. Some of these nurses are truly terrible to us and we are just told to be nicer to them. I have never worked in an environment that ignores professionalism the way we are told to. There’s a reason men like working for this company more than women, let me just say that. Very disappointed in this company over the recent months and they will be losing a lot of valuable employees with what has been going on. There has been no pay increase in years for cost of living. We are asked to do the same quality of work in a day, but working OT is not allowed anymore. Deadlines have gotten shorter, so you better race to meet it (and don’t miss a single thing) or your people aren’t getting paid. You fight tooth and nail to get promoted, but only the favorites are recognized. The people in leadership positions are absolutely not qualified to be in them. We have also switched healthcare companies and the coverage is AWFUL and you are paying an arm and a leg for it. I dread working everyday and I will not be continuing the quality of work for the disrespect I experience daily internally and externally.

Aya Healthcare Response

Thank you for your feedback. To ensure patients have the best caregiver when they need it most and meet the demand of a shifting market, we’re currently evaluating every team to ensure we have the right people in the right positions. We wanted to handle this in the most compassionate and thoughtful way possible, which to us was making voluntary offers with generous severance amounts and providing advanced notice and benefit continuation. We’d like to connect further as Aya does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or favoritism of any kind. We take alleged violations of our EEO Policy seriously and you can read our full EEO policy here: https://bit.ly/ayaEEOpolicy. If you would like to report an alleged violation of Aya’s EEO or want to further discuss your concerns, please email our Chief People Officer, Amber Zeeb at azeeb@ayahealthcare.com.

Pros

I love working at Aya. I’m motivated to help staff hospitals across the country to bring healthcare to everyone. It’s not perfect, but people DO care about you. I have a rare perspective where I work across many teams including leadership, compliance and operations (as little old admin, bottom of the totem pole) and I have not witnessed the toxic workplace environment some people mention here. People are respectful and the subject of employee satisfaction is always top of mind. I’ve been at Aya for many seasons. Is it the same as COVID? No it’s not. but it was a pandemic and we’re a healthcare staffing company. You don’t want our business to boom like that again, it would mean tons of people are sick and hospitals aren’t staffed. Layoffs were awful and I miss my coworkers that were asked to leave. but the business changed after Covid and demand isn’t the same across the entire industry, not just at Aya Pros: Remote Positive work environment Unlimited PTO Fun events Beautiful office with free food Great coworkers DEI-forward with commitment to equality TLDR: layoffs suck but you don’t want infinite exponential growth in healthcare Expectations are high, but the environment is good and work-life balance is amazing

Cons

Pay is decent but not competitive with tech Growing pains
