Pros
Management has positive caring attitudes. I feel several levels of leadership have my back when needed. Continuing education is encouraged and compensated. Management training is provided. There is a strong veteran network and culture of respect. There is an active spot award program. Feedback is routine and promotions are available—in 6 years my pay has increased by over 50%. Telework is allowed in times of need.
Cons
Appraisals are tough and it’s difficult to feel like you “won.” Contracted positions are sometimes subject to frustrating prime contractor and host customer constraints. The remote corporate location can burden communication and challenge the support staff.
