Pros

Decent work-life balance if you are involved in one of the few long term projects. Nice colleagues. Some interesting projects.

Cons

Very bad work-life balance if you are involved in short term projects (usually 1 month funding, eventually renewed, to work on machine learning tasks). Customers (particularly if internal) do not trust the group (they believe the group is trying to steal their money) and they end up micromanaging the projects! As part of BAE Systems, Digital Intelligence is astonishingly very poorly funded. This results in very bad IT (lots of problems with simple things like...switching on your computer and accessing the network), poorly maintained workplace, psychologically unsafe environment (in order for the place to stay open it is mandatory to show outside the group that everything is going well), very bad management (usually untrained people who do not care about employees happiness (but even if they cared, there is nothing they could do to improve the place), but are more interested in showing they are indispensable, which is far from being true). Very low diversity and inclusivity, even if the company says the contrary.... Very high turnover.
