Pros

Good that they offer flexi time.

Cons

As a female you’re overlooked and your opportunities are super-seeded by men with less experience. As a junior member of staff working here the opportunities are limited - it’s better to go into large corporate companies at a more senior level. I was on the grad scheme and the company inhibits your growth (I was encouraged to take lower grade roles - rather than work at the level I was at). Huge lack of support in management my manager wouldn’t return my calls, respond to Skype messages/email and would ask me to commute to the office to have a f2f and then he would wfh. A very 80’s traditional, corporate structure with the ‘boys club’. Complete lack of diversity (out of 30 new starters there were 2 females…) in terms of gender and race - I saw 3 ethnic minorities in 2yrs of working there. Managers are not genuinely interested in supporting/developing you (head of departments are - which you rarely see). Huge lack of interpersonal skills and poor behaviour is tolerated. There’s no diversity of thought, a lot of ex-Navy with similar mindsets. Ambition is discouraged and you’re expected ‘to do as you’re told’. Terrible pay post grad-scheme. Offices are also very old fashioned and in need of a face lift (which I believe they’re investing in). Overall a company that isn’t changing or moving fast enough to keep up with the younger generations entering the work force. As a result I handed in my notice ASAP, and have never looked back. This is in no way an exaggeration - if you’re a Male or White you’ll fit right in and have the best experience so go ahead and apply; otherwise avoid at all costs!
