Pros
Many opportunities to move internally I’ve observed very strong support for internal progression. Great place to learn for a project manager as it is quite a mature PM environment with discipline specific learning pathways available. There seems to be respect for Work/life balance, I don’t get contacted outside working hours, upper management seem to take time off quite a bit as well.
Cons
Salaries are relatively low and aside from learning opportunities there aren’t really other perks that offset this. When I first started the culture was quite confronting, I generally feel like no one cares about you as a person or bothers to make you feel included. I have often been openly talked down to and people will make dismissive comments - It soon becomes pretty obvious that it’s just the culture and nothing to do with you or your skills but you need to have a thick skin. It’s a pity because I think it impacts a lot of people and their motivation.
