Pros
Working for a prestigious company, who is the Primary Provider on any given intelligence support contract can make the time spent deployed to war zones like Afghanistan or Iraq much more doable. With legitimate corporate processes in place to protect the company and the employees from illegitimate indemnity, having to contact support back stateside is much easier. Also, there is rarely ever an irregularity with your salary. Benefits are also much more improved over small companies with completely outsourced support and HR services. BAE Systems, Inc. has all of this and more. I've only been employed with them for six months, but I highly recommend the company to all my former military colleagues looking for work in the private sector.
Cons
The problem with working on a contract that specifically entails deploying forward to a war zone for 50 weeks out of the year is that you miss out on a whole year of life with friends and family. Also, considering that you are essentially at risk 24/7, certainly some places more than others, the pay can be little consolation if you have a good family dynamic.
