Pros

Flexible hours, you can work as much or less as you want.

Cons

The dollar amount they start you out at is what you will most likely always make . The only way you may get more money is if the client you are working for is paying for their own care or either they have insurance. You have to almost beg for an increase in pay and most of the time it will only increase you to 9.00 . Once you no longer have that type of client you are back to 8.25 an hour. Have been there 3 years and still make 8.25 an hour. You have to work 2,000 hours Each Year to get any paid time off. The Bayada Bucks Program is a joke. They hardly ever give you the bucks, even if you work call outs , and are never out yourself . It would take years to really get anything worth having. Most of the work is 2 or 3 hours for most of the clients. Not worth the gas to go from client to client. I was told they pay for gas between clients. I have never been paid for this. There is alot to be done for clients in those 2-3 hours , you work really hard. They do not pay Overtime !

Pros

Work/life balance. You can choose your days and hours.

Cons

No support from office staff to field staff. You can report wrong doing, errors, etc. to them and nothing is done. They like to keep a blind eye, especially when it’s one of their “favorites” Favoritism is out of control! Another person described it as “cult like” I would agree, but would use more of the term cliquish. It’s a mean girls club in the office. If you’re not in the “in crowd” there’s no acknowledgement of your successes or any kind of awards or compensation. They withhold vital info on clients and their needs on purpose. Question everything when taking on a client, they will try to “trick” you into taking difficult clients. Also, if you get the wrong scheduler (there are some good ones) they will leave these poor families without coverage. They’re too lazy to look for replacements if their regular caregivers need off, leaving the clients with no coverage. When they say their hours are 8a-4p… they mean it! Don’t think they’re going to go above in beyond the way they expect the field staff to do.
