Senior leadership either needs to get their priorities in order or an overhaul - Manager BAYADA Home Health Care Employee Review

Pros

Individual teams and the people doing the 'real' work are (mostly) wonderful - they actually believe in the BAYADA way, are more than happy to help when asked. Mid-level management mostly is supportive, willing to be flexible with scheduling if needed, and do everything they can to help out their employees. The PTO is decent (3 weeks, 4 weeks after 5 years, 4 'floating holidays' and 2 weeks sick time each year).

Cons

There is a MASSIVE disconnect between what gets communicated up to these leaders from their teams, what gets communicated up from those leasers to senior leadership, and what senior leadership (and I'm guessing the board) does with that information. It’s time for the board and David to own up to their mistakes - hiring the wrong people for C-suite positions, dumping millions and millions into more failed projects and products than anyone can count (including multiple big-4 consulting contracts that have done nothing but waste money). They continue to lay people off without replacing them, leading to everyone else doing the work of 2-3 (or more) people. Though the PTO policy is fine, with every single team strapped for employees and with more work than they can handle, it is almost impossible to either not be forced to work when you are off, or to come back to 50 fires burning in different places that all "require your immediate attention". David and other C-suites continue to get MASSIVE salary increases every year (being a non-profit means this is easily accessible public information!), while the rest of the workers are told that there's a maximum of 2% (and often getting less than that). The benefits continue to be way too expensive while getting worse coverage each year, not to mention you have to be there for 90-days in order to be eligible for them; and the 401K match is a joke (.4% of the first 3% - or 1.2% MAX).

Pros

Work/life balance. You can choose your days and hours.

Cons

No support from office staff to field staff. You can report wrong doing, errors, etc. to them and nothing is done. They like to keep a blind eye, especially when it’s one of their “favorites” Favoritism is out of control! Another person described it as “cult like” I would agree, but would use more of the term cliquish. It’s a mean girls club in the office. If you’re not in the “in crowd” there’s no acknowledgement of your successes or any kind of awards or compensation. They withhold vital info on clients and their needs on purpose. Question everything when taking on a client, they will try to “trick” you into taking difficult clients. Also, if you get the wrong scheduler (there are some good ones) they will leave these poor families without coverage. They’re too lazy to look for replacements if their regular caregivers need off, leaving the clients with no coverage. When they say their hours are 8a-4p… they mean it! Don’t think they’re going to go above in beyond the way they expect the field staff to do.
