Pros

Work from home I can't think of a single other pro.

Cons

Highly micromanaged. It is like working with someone virtually constantly looking over your shoulder, all day, every day! Unsupportive Managers who change your roster and extend your working hours with very little notice. Managers creating an environment that is so micromanaged you become terrified to leave your desk for 5 seconds, very unreasonable and unsupportive. The company is happy to take your personal time after hours but constantly extends the boundaries when it comes to allowing personal time The worst travel tech and systems I have ever used, all work is high-touch and manual processes. Every aspect is about working harder, never smarter. Emails and phone calls are run out of the worst system ever, its extremely challenging trying to find emails, re-reply to an email that has already had a reply, follow up on anything, you can only ever see 1 email at a time and have no idea what other emails are in the inbox which is horrible when clients are calling to talk through their email... which you cant see. At times emails will go to another team who forgot to turn their email queue off, or someone else will just accidently disconnect emails so they are just lost without you knowing. I have been asked to lie to clients and just say that I can see their email, even when I cannot see it or access it. Every aspect of calls and emails are reported on and scrutinized only leading to work anxiety. Management is not supportive, only focused on the speed of how quickly the phone is answered or every second that you are not on a call. Finance & invoices are almost always wrong, expect endless complaints and to lose customers over invoicing issues, statements that can take months to come out & the constant battle with offshore finance to fix all of the invoices that are wrong. Please also watch out for work place bullying. It is not an equal and fair environment for all. However, if you were to suggest any mention of the word bullying, management will do their best to talk you out of any notion of bullying. If you are considering a job at BCD, please dont, keep looking. This is the worst place I have ever worked, and I have worked in travel for over 20 years. Avoid BCD!

I love everything about BCD travel. It’s a laid back work environment with minimal micromanagement.

Cons

I really cannot list any kinds. BCD is an awesome place to work.

Pros

The company used to give raises every 6 months based on performance.

Cons

We have not been given raises in years and they always have an excuse as to why they have to push it off til later, even our 0-3% inflation “raises” are put off until further notice. We no longer have sick leave or PTO and they say we should be grateful for that because if we were to leave the company they wouldn’t pay out our PTO to us, but they will pay out our vacation. If you need any kind of time off good luck, you need to know when your children will get sick months in advance, otherwise you accrue attendance points which will get you closer to being fired. Work force management pesters management about what we’re doing and why every single minute of the day. If we are late for scheduled breaks or lunches by a couple minutes they need to know why. If you have to deal with a traveler longer than usual you need to send multiple messages to management explaining why. It’s horrific micromanaging and we are treated like children now. You can find better pay at any other business travel management company while also being treated like a human being and not a number.
