Pros

*Fair Compensation and Benefits *Excellent work/life balance policies and time off around holidays *Great coworkers both locally and nationwide Overall BDO is generally a very fair employer and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a job in this industry and this city.

Cons

I want to preface this by saying my department was in a state of flux the entire time I was with BDO and I don't believe my experience is representative of the company as a whole, especially for the actual accounting and audit side of things. *Little to no useful training and ill-defined job parameters *Non-existant formal feedback from managers *Unclear path of advancement *Feel left out of the big picture--little sense of direction or goals as a lower-tier employee I came to BDO through a merger as part of the acquired company's marketing team. Upon acquisition the new leadership left our job roles largely undefined for several months and assigned us a manager who was soon promoted to a different position. While I believe the company is going through growing pains and figuring things out, ultimately the leadership in my department felt very disorganized.

Pros

Consultants were not overworked, and people are generally staying in their own lane. Strong knowlegeable teammates and lots of internal resources to grow. Work life balance was good.

Cons

I left during a time of transition, since the top practice director retired and the EBA leader took over as interim leader. This interim guy seemed to be waiting for something to take any action with current resources, and he was not too interested in rallying or figuring things out as a team. If he had expectations, they were never communicated to me. The lack of clarity was very challenging for me personally, and it came off as a lack of support. I think others in the team probably feel similarly.
