      Great Company on paper, but NOT in reality - Anonymous employee BDO Employee Review

      Pros

      Great core values on paper; women's initiative program is great (again on paper); compensation and benefits packages are on par with the big four; it is a growing company with a lot of potential (if they could keep employees)

      Cons

      Senior management is very clique like - Senior managers regularly gossip about employees. Training is almost non-existant. The lack of communication in this office is astounding. The lack of internal promotion is concerning. Turn over is very high, yet management does not seem to want to address the issues.

I personally know many situations where the Women's Inititaive has played a concrete role to make a differenct to women who would otherwise have considered alternatives, and our we make very significant investiments in online, locally conducted and national training...one of which is going on right now in Dallas!       Pros

      Consultants were not overworked, and people are generally staying in their own lane. Strong knowlegeable teammates and lots of internal resources to grow. Work life balance was good.

      Cons

      I left during a time of transition, since the top practice director retired and the EBA leader took over as interim leader. This interim guy seemed to be waiting for something to take any action with current resources, and he was not too interested in rallying or figuring things out as a team. If he had expectations, they were never communicated to me. The lack of clarity was very challenging for me personally, and it came off as a lack of support. I think others in the team probably feel similarly.
