Pros

Very Very Very Friendly engineers except managers

Cons

I have worked at Benteler Gebze for 3 months and I am forced to leave the company on 29.04.2015. I have been informed that the reason of my dismission is my openness during a training session organized by HR department, in which there were nearly 15 attendees from all departments. The training (on 10th of April) was about "Time and Stress Management". In this training session the trainer (Mr. Tamer Canturk) advised us " You should set your priorities by yourself and give your 100% effort to finish them on time and with quality, another person's priorities might not be your first priority. " . He also advised us to follow our personal time plan and sometimes to be able to say "no" to manager's requests which would contradict with our personal time plan not to have much stress at work and manage our working time in a better way. I raised the point to him that I sometimes have difficulty to apply this advice. As Customer Quality Expert I obviously have my own priorities such as Customer Complaints, Customer Documents, Quality and Project documents etc.. As I am frequently asked to give my leader's own duties the first priority, I inevidably have issues with my own time and stress management. I will make more effort to follow your advice and manage my time better at work benefiting from this training session." Yesterday, at the last conversation done by the attandence of myself, HR Manager, Quality Manager and General manager, I tried to explain them that my opinions that I shared openly on the training session was only my effort to benefit from trainers experience to improve my personal skills and to be a more beneficial employee for my company. They replied " It's wrong to share your ideas on the training session with all other employees are alongside. You can not criticise us!" . I have never criticised them, I have never used any special name or position at my conversation with the trainer, they all personalized my ideas and punished me with dismissing from my company. There are lots of managers which are unserious and disrepectful. They can give you appreciation for your work 10 days before, after that they can dismiss you 10 days later. Be very careful when choosing this company for your career. Do not choose this company for your career if you are comfortable with you current job. If so your career may be ruined as mine.

Cons

One of the worst onboarding experiences I have been apart of. Since day 1, there have been zero expectations or guidance from the manager. The individual training has basically passed off all topics and files off with zero background knowledge and the cadence of how things operate. It was then expected of me to lead everything in the first 25 days of being on the team. As you could imagine, this has led to direct failure of tasks to be completed. The individual training does not appear to actually want to train, but rather move on to their new role and just get everything off their plate and expect you to understand all topics immediately. Unfortunately, not sure how long this will last and if I will be staying with BENTELER. Based on what I found out after being hired, it sounds like they hired the first person just so the individual could get into their new role as fast as possible without thinking about how the backfill would succeed coming into this role.
