Pros

Through customer manipulation and exploitation, and relatively low paying salaries, they are profitable.

Cons

To witness, first hand, how poorly managed this company is can only be described as a state of immoral shock, a surreal environment so unprofessional that you mistakenly question all your previous work principles and say to yourself, "this can't be real... this can't be how a good business is operates." By all empirical evidence, the only business model seems to be, "shove as many loans as possible down the pipeline, flip the loans as quickly as possible, rinse and repeat." No real consideration or care is given to the actual customer in need nor is there any thought given to true process improvement or innovation. The business analyst team that works on "inefficiencies" don't actually solve problems that make real differences that bring business value. Everyone is blinded to the fact that the entire process, from marketing to sales to underwriting to funding to the incredibly over-complicated decision engine logic to the house or cards technical product that processes the application are all faulty and flawed and the entire process needs to be burned down, built from scratch, and standardized. But that costs too much or there are too many big words for leadership team to understand or they really just don't care. There is an embarrassing cult-like motto plastered everywhere and used for chants and salutations from Big Brother during every fundamentally useless "Town Hall." During one of these terrible company wide meetings, one of the owners was doing a particularly horrible job at motivating his sales team to beat last's quarters goal, and literally pleaded, "I LOVE MONEY! MONEY SOLVES ALL MY PROBLEMS!" It didn't occur to me to check if anyone else's mouth dropped to the floor in comedic disbelief but now I assume everyone had already tuned him out, like they always do. BHG will take anyone off the streets for an entry level position (no prior sales or relevant experience required). Training is provided and an opportunity is given. And on the surface, and in all fairness, this sounds and is somewhat noble. An employer willing to give virtually anyone, even Joe Schmoe on the corner, a real shot at a career is a good thing. However, where things start to fall a part is when Joe Schmoe starts performing well and gets promoted to a management position or, even worse, a technical management position. Now Joe Schmoe calls the shots and prior to slinging high interest loans and drinking the Kool-Aid had no capability to manage others in a professional manner. The world goes round and the cult-like monster keeps getting fed.

Pros

BHG has been a great place to grow my career over the past five years. The combination of strong leadership, a supportive culture, and continued investment in employees makes it a place I’m proud to be part of—and I look forward to continuing my journey here for years to come. Outstanding People & Culture: One of BHG’s biggest strengths, its people. My teams are collaborative, supportive, and invested in everyone's success. The environment makes you feel valued and motivated to do your best. Strong Leadership: Leadership at the top demonstrates commitment to the company’s success and its employees. Investment in Employees: BHG genuinely invests in its people, whether through tools, professional development, or embracing innovation. This focus helps employees grow which directly strengthens the company! I love this! Benefits & Perks: The benefits package is competitive and well-rounded. Wellness Fridays are a standout perk and show that the company prioritizes work-life balance and employee well-being.

Cons

Dynamic & Engaging Work: Its a fast-paced environment, but it keeps things interesting and provides opportunities to grow and work on impactful initiatives that drive the business forward. Sometimes this can lead to rework, or multiple people doing working on the same things. i.e.: Borrower Portals.
