This environment is toxic. Seriously, beware. They make you feel like you’re the greatest, but then rarely promote people deserving of it. They value not knowing the end of the day, but not productivity and work life balance. They praise people for “making an impact” but then shun and fire people who ask too many questions.
If you want to survive at BHG, stay quiet, fly under the radar, and do just enough to not get burnt out or drive yourself crazy from lack of work life balance. If anyone can survive here for more than a few years, you’re one of the select few.
Senior executives don’t just leave because they found better opportunities, they knew to start looking because this company is slowly starting to destroy the “shiny” appeal it used to have in Syracuse NY as one of the largest employers in the area.
If you think it’s too good to be true, it is. Take the other job you were offered or keep looking because this company will just wear away at your own personal happiness until you’ve had enough where you either quit or they fire you on the spot without cause (you don’t have to be on a performance improvement plan to get “let go” since NY is an at-will employer state).
Also, the entire company is family, which gets even messier when there’s been proof about affairs at work (this happened in multiple departments with multiple senior executives).
Go work somewhere else. Trust me, you won’t ever ask yourself, “what would’ve happened if I took that job at BHG?” You’re better off anywhere else.
