Pros

Absolutely none. I have nothing good to say about this company.

Cons

This is by far the worst, most immoral, depraved company I have ever worked for. My only goal is to protect future applicants and employees by providing the truth with as much information as possible so that people can make a fully informed decision on their own (and I came with receipts). THEY MASS HIRE AE'S AND OVERWORK THEM BY OVERLOADING THEM WITH THE LESS QUALIFIED LEADS AND THEN LAYING OFF ALL AE'S AFTER 120 DAYS FOR NOT HITTING QUOTA. BELOW IS PROOF. Do not quit your current job to work here. Do not believe the lies BHG sells, i.e. that you can make an uncapped commission and/or make 6 figures your first year. It’s all lies. [redacted] Just look at the defensive BHG responses on the bad reviews and it will tell you everything you need to know. Sales Academy is designed for failure. The foundation of the sales academy is a scam and is intentionally set up for new AEs to do the grunt work and then be tossed out like trash. It is a tactic by leadership to create a sweatshop like atmosphere to get as much work out of you as possible while underpaying you and avoiding paying commission. You will absolutely have to work 12 to 15 hour days in order to graduate from the sales academy. You will also have to work weekends. They will tell you that overtime and weekends are optional - they are lying. If you want to graduate and be offered a full time position, you will 100% have to work nights and weekends. The unattainable quotas are intentional as it allows them to let 90-95% of sales academy employees go after 90 days which is why you are a contract employee and why there is no benefits or commission. It’s a ploy to purposefully have high turnover and save money. THEY DO THIS INTENTIONALLY TO UNDERPAY PEOPLE TO HANDLE THE LESS QUALIFIED LEADS AS THIS SAVES THE COMPANY MONEY. As much as I like all of the sales coaches, I can’t help but to think that they are lacking in some mental capacity as they are fully aware of what is going on within the sales academy and the deplorable actions of the company. They know that people are being mass hired, and then mass layoffs once the work is completed. They’re fully aware of this and they should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to work in such a disgraceful establishment. There is no way someone with morals, intelligence, and a conscience would ever work here. Here is a breakdown of a typical 15 hour work day for a new AE in 3 sections: #1: 7.5 hours spent on new leads and applications. Average of 25 leads per day with a 40% conversion quota = 10 applicants per day. The application process for a new AE takes anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. 10 applicants x 45 minutes is 450 minutes or 7.5 hours. #2: 5.25 hours spent on pipeline follow up. Pipeline follow up with 7 day call, text AND email cadence is required on every lead. 25 leads per day less 10 converted to applicants = 15 leads x 7 day cadence = 105 leads to call, text, and email everyday. A call, text and email to 1 lead takes a minimum of 3 minutes (if you are fast and if they don’t answer the phone). There is no automation in this - you call/text/email every lead manually. 105 x 3 minutes = 315 minutes or 5.25 hours. #3: 2-3 hours spent on miscellaneous. Miscellaneous training, meetings, inbound calls, incomplete applications, missing documents, lunch etc.

This review does not accurately reflect BHG Financial or our Sales Academy. Job details, along with the academy process, are fully provided to candidates throughout the recruiting and interview stages, allowing interviewees the ability to ask questions prior to receiving an offer and accepting a role. The expectation is set for candidates during the hiring process that this is an intent-to-hire role prior to a full-time employment offering. Graduation to a full-time role is based on individual performance and successfully meeting Key Performance Indicators. Performance evaluations are also done throughout the process with daily dedicated coaching support, as well as 30/60/90-day performance reviews. This allows candidates to receive the training and support needed at an individual level while also offering transparency around their performance and progress throughout the program. Upon successful graduation, candidates are provided with their full-time role details, as well as their official offer letter outlining the compensation and commission structure. While there is no commission payout throughout the duration of the academy currently, a $60,000 base salary is offered, not including any overtime that is worked. During this time, commissions are not paid, as we want new team members to focus on training and development throughout the onboarding process while maintaining a steady income without worry of fluctuations in compensation. Building and maturation of a pipeline based upon our current structure could take anywhere from 2-3 months for steady commissions to be earned. Over 95% of current full-time Account Executives are former academy graduates, with top performers earning high 6 figures. The very few who are not offered a full-time role with BHG Financial still gain valuable training and resources to take with them along their career journey. We are 100% confident that our processes and systems exceed those of our competitors within the industry. Standard working hours are from 9am-6pm EST Monday-Friday. We observe 10 paid holidays per year and offer Wellness Weekends (which provide an extra day off each month) taken on the day of the trainee's choosing. Upon accepting a full-time position, we provide 15 days of PTO for the first year of employment and then 20 days off after 2 years. This is in addition to covered health insurance for employees and dependents, along with an array of other perks and benefits, all designed with employee health and wellness in mind. While we do not agree with your review, we encourage you to contact us at people@bhg-inc.com so that we can discuss this further.

Pros

BHG has been a great place to grow my career over the past five years. The combination of strong leadership, a supportive culture, and continued investment in employees makes it a place I’m proud to be part of—and I look forward to continuing my journey here for years to come. Outstanding People & Culture: One of BHG’s biggest strengths, its people. My teams are collaborative, supportive, and invested in everyone's success. The environment makes you feel valued and motivated to do your best. Strong Leadership: Leadership at the top demonstrates commitment to the company’s success and its employees. Investment in Employees: BHG genuinely invests in its people, whether through tools, professional development, or embracing innovation. This focus helps employees grow which directly strengthens the company! I love this! Benefits & Perks: The benefits package is competitive and well-rounded. Wellness Fridays are a standout perk and show that the company prioritizes work-life balance and employee well-being.

Cons

Dynamic & Engaging Work: Its a fast-paced environment, but it keeps things interesting and provides opportunities to grow and work on impactful initiatives that drive the business forward. Sometimes this can lead to rework, or multiple people doing working on the same things. i.e.: Borrower Portals.
