Pros

1. Fair salaried wages (if your a salaried employee) 2. Cafe and Cafeteria 3. Old company with fresh young talent. 4. Cathy Bissell is a hero. Her work for pets is to be admired. 5. Tuition reimbursement (if you can get it approved) 6, Great HR response time to your needs 7. Good internal communication. 8. Company is growing 9 They truly do make great products (I own several) 10. Employee store discounts

Cons

1. A highly profitable company should be providing better employee health care, their high deductible insurance is terrible and not allowing a spouse to be covered if their employer offers insurance is ridiculous. 2. Profit sharing and 401K match is subpar considering company growth and company profitability. 3. A quick look at the companies organizational chart tells you that BISSELL lacks diversity in the workplace. You will be hard pressed to find any minority workers represented here. 4. The use of temporary employees is overextended and taken advantage of. 5. Temperature and humidity levels in the plant leave peoples health at risk, Unbearable heat conditions during the summer months. 6. Poor production worker wages. 7. Ridiculous (keeping it real) shift premiums 8. Poor family/ work balance 9. Employee appreciation could be much better. 10. Poor break/ lunch time allotment for hourly workers

Pros

The business remains one of the oldest family-owned companies in the US, that continues to see growth and success. There's transparency with results and we avoid the unnecessary fiscal exercises that are tied back to shareholder reporting with publically traded companies. The culture is one of respect and flexibility.

Cons

There are be some over conservatism at times, but the long history of success speaks for itself.
