Pros

BISSELL has launched a string of great products that have been in high demand by consumers and has had a several decades of successful growth in the US and globally. Organizationally the culture has been a great draw. Only place I have worked at that you did not spend a portion of your time every week doing CYA and defending yourself and team from other teams that are trying to deflect their issues to your team. I enjoy going to work because the people I work with really interested in growing together as a team. Of course not everyone fits in to this type of culture, and of course not every manager/team exemplifies this in the business, but if you like this work environment, it is a great culture. Future looking, as long as the business to continue focus on delivering new products and adjusting to consumer expectations, which they have shown to do, they have a very good future ahead for the total business. 401K is very good. There are numerous other indirect perks: on-site cafeteria, summer hours, bring dogs to work, several other ways that success are celebrate individually and as a business.

Cons

The company ha slowly been transitioning from the more "team" culture to a more traditional combative culture I have experienced at other businesses. Company titles are usually 1 level below other equal business, e.g. Directors would be Sr Directors and Sr Directors would be VPs at other companies. Comp is a little low compared to similar business, but bonuses will usually push you up to more competitive. Insurance is OK, but not great.

Pros

The business remains one of the oldest family-owned companies in the US, that continues to see growth and success. There's transparency with results and we avoid the unnecessary fiscal exercises that are tied back to shareholder reporting with publically traded companies. The culture is one of respect and flexibility.

Cons

There are be some over conservatism at times, but the long history of success speaks for itself.
