Pros
I used to have pros! My first few years with the company I truly enjoyed my team and my job. Unfortunately the only pro I can think of based on the company culture today is that they are pet- focused.
Cons
BISSELL had a major shift in company culture in the last few years. Leadership continually blames it on Covid-19 and working from home environment when in fact it was a shift in prioritizing its people. A few things contribute to this: - Trying to keep up with competitors without proper resourcing and support or additional headcount for teams. - Inconsistent messaging from leaders on promotions and career opportunities - Leaders are unwilling to take responsibility when critical feedback is given. This is common amongst departments. The leaders that do try to make a change often hit major roadblocks deeming progress impossible. Cries for help and change are typically ignored or interpreted as negative. -Unprofessionalism amongst leadership. The way that situations have been handled in comparison to other companies I’ve worked for is extremely unprofessional. Leaders should be examples to their teams, and unfortunately that hasn’t been the case for the last 36 months. -Talent is not rewarded monetarily for their hard work or success. Promotions I’ve had at the company did not allow me to grow my skill set as each department always seemed to be understaffed and they would always say it’s “all hands on deck” which is fine if there is change coming but that was never promised or guaranteed. -Leadership is chosen based on the fact that they were good at their current jobs not by the fact that they wanted to be a people leader, had proper leadership training, or would prioritize people first.
